IOC Allocates Budget to Cope with Tokyo 2020 Postponement

Tokyo 2020 : The International Olympic Committee has announced a budget of $ 25 million to cope with losses due to postponement. The Olympic event will now take place in the year 2021.

The IOC has taken the decision to cope with additional expenses. Further to this, the IOC has also said that extra $ 15 m will go to a program helping 1600 athletes. Olympic Solidarity Program has released the funds that aims to help 206 national Olympic teams.

Just a day before, an Olympic committee member sitting in the headquarters has been tested positive for COVID19. The entire floor has been sealed and order for work from home has been released. The team is currently working on the planning of 2021.

The budget will help the athletes to prepare for next year and also cover travel costs.

Globally 28,55,699 cases has been tested positive with 1,98,532 deaths.
