Sports fans have shown great fear in making immediate comeback to stadiums according to a recent fan poll. The poll conducted by Harris Poll reveals that only 6% fans are ready to come back to stadium in large number once the lockdown is over.
The Harris Survey took place in America between 18 to 20 April. 15% of the respondents are from New York. Around 2029 fans participated in the poll. The result showed that 1 in every 5 American is not sure of attending LIVE matches. Few of them have also suggested to provide masks at the entry gate. While many have advised that all sports events should be cancelled for this year.
57% respondents have said that they need 4 months or more to make a comeback in public events.
The lockdown has resulted in cancellation or postponement of all sporting events worldwide. The United States has recorded a whopping number of 8,19,175 COVID19 cases and 45,343 deaths till now. The situation is finding difficult to come under control. Whereas, 25,80,729 confirmed Coronavirus cases has been recorded worldwide with 6,93,093 recovered cases with 1,78,371 deaths.
While many parts of the world are planning to end the lockdown by the month of May, the current cases are likely to derail the plan with the economy going for a whirl, already.
