NBA has come up with a newer approach to keep their fans engaged in times of lockdown.

With NBA2k20, the organisers are doing every bit to keep the fans engaged.

The launch event took place on 3rd April while Sunday, i.e., 5th April will be the second round of NBA tournament LIVE streaming. ESPN has secured the streaming rights while YouTube, Facebook and Twitch are also likely to LIVE stream the matches.

Kevin Durant was defeated by No. 16 Derrick Jones Jr. in Round 1 of the opening game.

The match ups since day 1 are as followed;

No. 16 Derrick Jones Jr. 78, No. 1 Kevin Durant 62

No. 10 Deandre Ayton 57, No. 7 Zach LaVine 41

No. 2 Trae Young 101, No. 15 Harrison Barnes 59

No. 14 Patrick Beverley 84, No. 3 Hassan Whiteside 54

8 Montrezl Harrell vs. No. 9 Domantas Sabonis

No. 5 Devin Booker vs. No. 12 Michael Porter Jr.

No. 4 Donovan Mitchell vs. No. 13 Rui Hachimura

No. 6 Andre Drummond vs. No. 11 Demarcus Cousins

The winner who will be decided on 11th April, on the day of semifinal and final, will receive an amount of $100,000. The winning amount will be directed towards donation to their choice of charity.

COVID19 has led to the cancellation/postponement of around 110 major international sporting events. NBA also announced temporary suspension of all games on 13th March.

With 2kTourney, the eSport initiative by NBA, the organisers are aiming to keep the fans engaged in order to fill the year long gap with no LIVE stadium placed sports events.
