It Will Be Safe To Use Saliva If Players Test Negative Before Match: Ajit Agarkar

Former India pacer Ajit Agarkar understands that in the current situation saliva-ban is a “safe option” but advised the game’s custodians to be flexible when players test negative before any series begins.

Recognizing the importance of saliva in the game, Agarkar said that for bowlers, saliva is just as important as a bat for a batsman. It would be really difficult for the bowlers to deal with this situation. Since it’s a new reform in the bowling policy it will be difficult to adapt initially.
Ajit says that his only opinion is that all those players who are tested negative for COVID19 should be allowed to use saliva. He urges medical officials to give broader view to his statement.

Ajit Agarkar further added, “If you are not letting us to use the saliva to shine the ball, which is as important as the bat to batsmen, it will really be difficult for the bowlers, but we have to wait and watch how we will handle this in match situation”.
Agarkar believes that things will be clearer once England series is played and the pros and cons of saliva ban will evident.
