English Premier League 2020-21 Preview - Manchester United vs Chelsea

Match day 6 of the English Premier League (EPL) is going to be an exciting affair with rivals Manchester United and Chelsea facing off against each other at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils are coming back home after a successful campaign in Paris, where they trumped past against the finalist of UEFA Champions League last season (1-2).

United have the winning momentum behind them with recent wins against Newcastle United and Paris St. Germaine.

The attackers for United, namely Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford have been standout in the season, thus far.

For Chelsea, manager Frank Lampard has invested a lot of faith on their new signings and it’s time the unit pays rich dividends for the faith entrusted on them.

Moreover, it is the defence which has been a cause of concern for The Blues, as they have frequently conceded away goals, failing to keep a clean sheet.

Chelsea’s backline should be bolstered with the presence of Ben Chilwell, Edouard Mendy, and Thiago Silva. The game will see the attacking trio of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner and Kai Havertz for the first time in tandem.

The Red’s defence has had its own share of problems lately. Eric Bailly’s muscle injury does not help Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s cause either. Manchester United also will be devoid of the services of Anthony Martial, who’s currently serving a three-match suspension.

The last time ‘The Blues’ met ‘The Reds’ during the FA Cup semi-finals, the former defeated the latter by a massive margin of 4-0.

However, the Red Devils ended up on the winning side on the previous four occasions, including thrice at Stanford Bridge.

All in all, fans must expect a high scoring thriller at the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ with two quality sides in action. Chelsea is currently five places above Manchester United with 8 points in 5 games. While, the men in reds are currently languishing at the 15th position with 6 points in four games.
