ISF Team: The second leg of Matchday 6 of the English Premier League 2020-21 saw six top-notch clubs in action on Sunday. The key clash out of the three games scheduled was between hosts Arsenal and Leicester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Despite holding better possession in the game (57%) and striking more shots on target (4 out of 12), the hosts ended up losing points.

Foxes’ central midfielder James Maddison set the tone early with a lob which brushed past the top of the net. The elegant playmaker almost caught Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno napping, as the latter advanced outside the box for clearance.

Alexandre Lacazette’s goal from a set-piece was ruled out as offside, a few minutes later. The Gunner’s continued to probe into Leicester’s defense throughout the first half.

Before half-time, the French striker had another golden opportunity to take the lead for his side but missed a delicious volley from Kieran Tierney.

Contrary to the first half, the Foxes appeared rejuvenated and went on the offensive in the second half. Hector Bellerin had a couple of great chances score from the box during the phase, but could not find the net.

The turning point of the game arrived when substitute Cengiz Ünder served a magnificent assist for Jamie Vardy, who made no mistake while converting from the box in the 79th minute. With the 0-1 win, Leicester defeated Arsenal at their home in 47 years.

At St. Mary’s Stadium in Southampton, table-toppers Everton’s undefeated streak was broken by strikes from James Ward-Prowse (27′) and Che Adams (35′). Carlo Ancelotti’s side could not find a way around Southampton’s domination in the game.

Lucas Digne received a red card in the dying moments of the game after a rough tackle from behind on Kyle Walkers-Peters. The game ended in a 2-0 win for the hosts who move to sixth place in the points table.

Elsewhere, at the Molineux Stadium, the high-octane game between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle United ended in a stalemate. Raul Jimenez’s strike in the 80th minute was nullified by that of Jacob Murphy’s in the 89th minute.

Here are the scores from Sunday’s games:

Arsenal 0 – 1 Leicester City

Southampton  2 – 0 Everton

Wolves 1 – 1 Newcastle United
