Crucial encounters lined up for La Liga giants Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid

After an enthralling Matchday 1 of the UEFA Champions League 2020-21, the action moves forward to the second day, where several heavyweights in European club football will be at loggerheads.

The two clubs from Madrid, Real and Atletico Madrid need to win their upcoming games against Borussia Monchengladbach and Salzburg respectively.

Shakhtar Donetsk humiliated the ‘White Sharks’ at their backyard last week. Real Madrid’s attacking line is slated to be bolstered with the return of Eden Hazard.

The Belgian left-winger hasn’t featured in a competitive game since Los Blancos’ defeat against Manchester City in last year’s Champions League.

Atletico Madrid, on the other hand, is coming off a 4-nil drubbing at Munich. The two giants from Madrid in La Liga are currently placed at the bottom of their respective groups. Thus, the urgency to win their next set of European encounters.

The Atlétis will be devoid of the services of centre-forward Diego Costa and Croatian right-back Sime Vrsalko.

Inter Milan is gearing up for their clash against a buoyant Donetsk side in Ukraine.  Manager Antonio Conte has his task cut-out without the presence of key players, namely Milan Skriniar, Roberto Gagliardini, Stefano Sensi, Matias Vecino and Alexis Sanchez.

Manchester City is all set to face Olympique Marseille for the first time in history. Pep Guardiola has to chalk out a formation without keeping injured Gabriel Jesus, Aymeric Laporte, and Benjamin Mendy into account.

Meanwhile, hosts Atalanta is locking horns with Ajax later in the evening. The game is expected to be a high-scoring affair.

Thiago Alcantara, Joel Matip, Virgil Van Dijk, Kostas Tsimikas, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are expected to miss out the game against FC Midtjylland at Anfield

Elsewhere, Lokomotiv Moscow has the uphill task of containing defending champions Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, Porto will go at loggerheads with Olympiacos. So fasten your seat belts for some heart-pumping action.
