Indian Olympic Association Mulls Banning Chinese Sponsors and Products

The slogan of boycott Chinese products in sports is growing these days and even trending on social media. Most of the sports fans are urging Indian Sports Federations and Associations to bring an end to ongoing deals with the Chinese companies.

IOA signed a deal in 2018 with Li- Ning for sponsoring training apparels, leisure wear and footwear to Indian contingent, including officials. The deal took place for the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games, the 2018 Olympic Youth Games and the Tokyo Olympics. The total value of the deal is estimated to be between Rs. 5-6 crore. Whereas, BCCI is also looking into this matter and is yet to take big decisions. The title sponsor of IPL is a Chinese mobile company called VIVO.

Fans are upset with the recent incident of killing of 20 soldiers in the Galwan region on the line of actual control (LAC). The Indian Olympic association secretary also said that country comes first and not the deals.
