Odense (Denmark), Oct 13(ISF Desk): Lakshya Sen stormed into the second round of the ongoing Denmark Open 2020 on Tuesday and the 19-year-old shuttler has expressed satisfaction on hitting the court after a long time.
Lakshya returned to competitive badminton at the ongoing tournament, which re-started after a COVID-19 forced seven-month hiatus.
The young Indian shuttler registered a comfortable 21-9, 21-15 win over Frenchman Christo Popov and an elated Lakshya pointed out that winning the initial games in any tourney is very crucial.
“It’s always a great feeling after winning the first game because opening affairs of any tournament are quite crucial as it helps you in building up the momentum. It gives you a feeling that whatever you have practiced is now paying off,” Lakshya said in a video posted in Badminton Association of India’s (BAI) official Twitter handle.
“The first-round went well and my movement around the court was good. The match feeling is pretty different. We practised for around four months and finally got a chance to play which is satisfactory.
After a long time we travelled. We have always been travelling and playing tournaments and restarting these things is a wonderful feeling,” he added.
Lakshya will now face the winner of the match between Belgian Maxime Moreels and Danish Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus in the next round.
