Lacklustre CSK Aim to Keep Playoff Hope Alive Against SRH

Dubai, Oct 13 (GloFans): Despite being termed as one of the most successful teams in the history of the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL), an off- colour Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will square-off against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the return fixture of the tournament on Tuesday.

The last time the teams faced off, SRH was on top after registering a narrow victory by merely seven runs.

CSK have lost both of their previous games against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) while Hyderabad suffered a heart-breaking loss against Rajasthan Royals in their last outing.

The MS Dhoni-led ‘Yellow Brigade’ has lost five of their seven games and are currently languishing at the seventh position in the eight-teams points table.

With the lucrative league already reaching its halfway mark, both the teams will aim for an improvement in their standings to keep their playoff hope alive.

The way CSK has struggled so far, they need to up the ante while batting, similarly they did against Kings XI Punjab to register a 10-wicket win.

Openers Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson had stepped up on that night but the others too, need to step up.

On the other Side, Hyderabad has won just three games out of seven so far. The ‘Orange Army’ bowlers have performed quite well despite losing the services of experienced Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

However, SRH needs to put runs on board.

Despite going down to RR on Sunday, the SRH think-tank might not opt to tinker much with their game plan. They have undoubtedly, looked a better side than CSK in this season.  The David Warner-led side will have to pick the winning momentum as soon as possible for getting back into the top four.
