'Flame of Recovery' or Tokyo Olympics 2020 Flame Scheduled to be Flown via Special Aircraft

A special title to honor the reconstructed Japan that is all set to host Olympics for a second time

 

Tokyo : The Olympic flame arrival ceremony schedule has been released by the Tokyo Olympics committee. The Torch Relay is all set to begin on 20th March 2020. The flame will be flown from Greece in a special aircraft “Tokyo 2020 Go”.

With 266 days left to the unfolding of historic Tokyo Olympics 2020, the country is making the most with the landmark opportunity. Hosting the Olympics for the second time, Japan is taking all possible steps to make it grander. The historic flame is scheduled to reach Japan on 20th March via Tokyo 2020 Go. The arrival will be celebrated with a welcome ceremony joined by school children. Olympic legendary sporting stars, Tadahiro Nomura and Saori Yoshida will disembark the lantern and the children from there will then take it to the stage.

Tadahiro Nomura and Saori Yoshida, both will accompany the flame from Greece to Japan along with committee officials in the special aircraft.

The aircraft is specially crafted with artworks depicting the culture of the society. One part of the plane is designed to reflect “Hope Lights Our Way” with Olympic emblems etched on the aircraft.

The Olympic Torch Relay will also serve as Flame of Recovery to commemorate the revolutionary change Japan  underwent after the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011.

After 26th march, the Flame will lead its way towards 121 days journey touching all 47 prefectures and 857 local municipalities to bring the grand event to life starting from 24th July.
