Pop Star Katy Perry is all set to perform on Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia
Australia : Katy Perry has confirmed her performance dates on the 8th March 2020 when Melbourne Cricket Ground will be hosting Women’s World Cup Grand Finale. Marking 100 Days to Go to the biggest women’s cricket event, the performance will take place on International Women’s Day.
“I hope to bring a unifying, electric performance playing some of my most empowering songs for the best female cricketers on the planet and some of my greatest fans, as we all unite to support gender equality and empower people to achieve everything that they desire”, said Katy Perry on signing the deal.
The initiative aims to invite more fans to the stadium supporting the female cricketers. ICC has also opened the booking of tickets for fans starting from $5 to $20.
Katy Perry will be performing before the game and after the game as well. With just 100 days to go, International Cricket Council is doing their best to ensure maximum fan support. ICC also aims to create a ground breaking record with maximum fan attendance. Currently the record is held by FIFA Women’s World Cup of 1999 that witnessed 90,185 fans in attendance.
The World Cup will start from 21st February 2020 and concludes on 8th March 2020. The opening match will be India Vs Australia anticipating a blockbuster hit. Fans can buy tickets from t20worldcup.com.
