Uriah Hall finishes off Anderson Silva’s legendary career via TKA

Legendary Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Anderson Silva, on the verge of retirement, faced defeat at the hands of Uriah Hall via TKO. The UFC Vegas 12: Hall vs Silva fixture was held at the Apex Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday (October 31).

The main event, also synonymous with UFC Fight Night 181, the number 10 ranked middleweight champion, Hall, faced off with Silva, who holds a legendary stature in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

The two sparred cautiously during the opening few minutes of Round One before they went after each other with some neat strikes.

The second round also had a watchful tone by both throughout. But the third round was where both Hall and Silva went at each other. Just at the nick of time, before the closing bell, Hall knocked Silva down.

The fourth round was where Hall ascertained his dominance with another knockdown followed by punches, thereafter, finishing off Silva by TKO.

“When you think of UFC, you can’t think of Anderson Silva. There are so many great champs, but for what he did and how he did it. I have so much respect for him and his family. It’s hard to describe when you’re in it. But just to share that moment, knowing it could be his last bout and him knowing how much I respect him, I couldn’t hold (the emotion) back.” Hall said after the bout.

When asked whether the fight was his last in the Octagon, Silva replied, “I don’t know. First I’ll go back home… it’s tough to say.”
