Match 40 Rajasthan Royals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

The Dubai International Stadium is hosting the return fixture between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Thursday, October 21.

The last time the two teams met, fans witnessed a riveting contest, with Royals emerging victorious by a margin of five-wickets, from a precariously placed situation. It was the ‘Miracle-Man’ for Royals, Rahul Tewatia and Riyan Parag, who turned out to be the heroes with the bat, a few days back against SRH.

Tewatia and SRH captain David Warner also engaged in a heated altercation after the completion of the game.

Both RR and SRH are currently placed sixth (8 points) and seventh (6 points) in the table respectively. Therefore, it remains imperative for the two teams to clinch a couple of points to remain in contention for the Playoffs.

When it comes to Head-to-Head records, RR have their noses ahead with 7 wins in 13 games, while SRH ended up on the winning side in the remaining six occasions.

RR is coming off a thumping seven-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Abu Dhabi. Whereas, SRH have their task cut-out to come back from the heartwrenching Super Over defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday.

When it comes to recent form, RR has won two out of the last five games played. While SRH has managed just one win in their last five games.

The key for Royals, yet again, lies with their overseas contingent in the side, featuring the likes of Jofra Archer, Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes and Steve Smith.

SRH, on the other hand, has to devise a way to field a well-balanced side, with Fabian Allen, Mohammad Nabi, and Billy Stanlake in the ranks.

The battle between Archer and Warner with the new ball should be a keenly anticipated affair in the game. In recent times, the former has had the wood over the latter with the ball.

Predicted XI:

RR: Jos Buttler, Robin Uthappa, Steven Smith (c), Ben Stokes, Sanju Samson (wk), Shreyas Gopal, Riyan Parag, Rahul Tewatia, Jofra Archer, Kartik Tyagi, Ankit Rajpoot.

SRH: David Warner (c), Jonny Bairstow (wk), Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson, Priyam Garg, Vijay Shankar, Rashid Khan, Sandeep Sharma, T Natarajan, Khaleel Ahmed, Shahbaaz Nadeem.
